March 11, 2010 - MRIC is currently experiencing the following network issues:

Winiger Pop Scheduled Maintenance - The maintenance scheduled for the 19th did not go as expected and although the APs were working through the night, they may be down for short periods on the 20th as we continue working on the upgrade. We appreciate your patience.

Holidays - While we will continue to monitor the network during the holidays, our support personnel will not be responding to individual tickets on Christmas and New Years Days.

If you are experiencing connection problems and the power-cycling procedure below doesn't fix it, please file a trouble ticket.

Generic power-cycling instructions:

NOTE that these instructions are GENERIC and your individual equipment setup may vary.

If you have any questions regarding this procedure, contact MRIC Support BEFORE proceeding!

  1. ***DO NOT PUSH THE RESET BUTTON*** !!!!
  2. unplug the power plug to your radio (the box connected to your antenna) from the wall or UPS. This would also be a good time to make sure the UPS is working!
  3. unplug the power plug to any of your own network equipment (if you have any) such as a router, wireless access point, etc. from the wall or UPS.
  4. turn off your computer.
  5. WAIT ONE MINUTE. [IMPORTANT]
  6. plug the power back in to your radio (the box connected to your antenna).
  7. WAIT ONE MINUTE. [IMPORTANT]
  8. plug the power back in to your own network equipment (if any).
  9. WAIT ONE MINUTE. [IMPORTANT]
  10. turn on your computer and log in.
  11. try to access the internet.
  12. Contact MRIC Support if this did not solve your connection problem.
