ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Spares Management
- Successfully led a global team of engineering, operations,
supply chain
management, and distribution to establish material availability
required to implement a fiber optics network in North America, Europe,
Hong Kong, and Japan.
- Established and executed project plans and schedules to
ramp spares
availability to meet customer's schedules.
- Reduced spares inventory required to support the customer's
global
optical network from $72 Million to $58 Million.
Operations Management
- Directed the operations and staffing of material planning,
purchasing,
engineering, scheduling, distribution, warehousing, repair, systems
integration, facilities maintenance, telecommunications, systems
analysis and computer systems.
- Implemented a successful business plan to stage and
warehouse data
networking products, improved customer service levels and reduced cost.
- Administered 14,000 shipments yearly, both domestically and
worldwide,
with over $1 Million per year of export shipments for systems and
service materials to international customers.
Project Management
- Championed and led the successful implementation of a new
computer
system from conceptualization to full operation. The new system
replaced five outdated computer systems and resulted in significant
costs reductions and greatly improved quality and integration of
information.
- Planned and executed the creation of a new repair center to
perform
80,000 repairs annually, including the purchase of all capital
equipment, staffing of personnel, and facility improvements.
- Successfully planned and implemented the move of a $35
million, 130
employee business from Texas to Minnesota.
Materials Management
- Delivered an outstanding level of materials availability;
supervised
the requirements planning for 40,000 parts and met or exceeded the
committed response times at a rate of better than 99%.
- Directed purchases for inventory and expense items to
support the field
service and systems integration business.
- Developed and incorporated systems integration processes.
- Developed and implemented a material requirements planning
program that
improved materials performance while reducing the incremental costs
incurred for the field service inventory.
New Product Introduction
- Field introduction: Created and executed field trial plans
to fully
test the features of new client server products that communicate with a
customer's switch. Teamed with development to identify and resolve
problems.
- Standardization: Prepared and executed testing of new
products from a
customer/distributor perspective.
- Support Planning: Developed and documented NPI plans for a
service
organization. Teamed with product development, logistics,
manufacturing, technical support, and documentation to ensure that
service was fully prepared as products were introduced.
Systems Integration
- Created systems integration processes, resulting in reduced
installation costs and improved product quality. Successfully led work
teams to meet or exceed demanding customer delivery schedules.
- Successfully staffed and managed technical personnel in
support of
installation and cutover activities for PBX switches.
